THE SHORT STORY: Kanna Matsuhisa found the back of the net for the fifth time this season, as VCU remained undefeated in Atlantic 10 play and extended its unbeaten streak to four games with a 1-1 draw on the road at Saint Joseph's.

PITCH SIDE
  • Matsuhisa's game-tying goal set a new career high of five for the midfielder
  • Carleigh Frilles recorded the assist on the Rams' lone goal, tallying her first point of the year
  • Jenna Eller led the Rams with four shots and one shot on goal
  • VCU outshot SJU 12-9 in the match, adding eight in the second half with three on target
  • The Rams didn't allow the host any chances from the corner, creating 11 corner opportunities of their own
  • Following three clean sheets, Allison Karpovich surrendered just her first goal in four matches
  • The Rams extended their unbeaten streak to four games, the most since its astounding 14-game streak (8-0-6) in 2022—eight of which were against conference opponents

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Hawks broken open the game early, scoring their lone goal in the seventh minute on a sneaky roller off the left post from Sarah Fisher
  • Frilles made a run up the right side, crossing through traffic and finding Matsuhisa, who beat out an SJU defender with the equalizer in the 12th minute
  • The Rams came out hot on the attack in the second half, Jordyn Hall and Eller forced a pair of saves by Hawks goalkeeper Katie Cappelletti in the 48th and 50th minutes
  • Pressing into the final 10 minutes, Stella Castro had a shot attempt blocked and returned with another into the hands of Cappelletti
  • VCU defenders made a pair of crucial blocks in the 87th minute to stave off the last Hawks' attempt to break the stalemate
  • Both the Rams and Hawks posted their fourth consecutive match without a loss, drawing 1-1
