FASOLD SCORES GAME-WINNER IN DOUBLE OT, LIFTS RAMS OVER EAGLES

The Short Story: VCU and American were deadlocked into double overtime when Luisa Fasold tapped in the rebound off Georgia Carr-Brown's shot for the win.

  • Fasold's goal marked the second of her VCU career and her second game-winner
  • Georgia Carr-Brown had a team-high two shot attempts with one shot on goal

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The first two quarters were back-and-forth but American had the better opportunities. The Eagles outshot VCU 3-0 in the first quarter and 1-0 in the second quarter
  • VCU shifted the momentum in the second half, allowing just one shot over the final 42 minutes of the contest. The lone shot for American came in the third quarter
  • The Rams outshot the Eagles 5-0 over the fourth quarter and the overtime periods
  • Two minutes into the second overtime, Carr-Brown's shot was initially saved by the American goalkeeper but bounced to Fasold at the back post who tapped in for the game-winner
