BOBICHON’S STRONG SEASON ENDS IN NCAA ROUND OF 32

STILLWATER, OKLA. Senior Matisse Bobichon competed in the Round of 32 today in the NCAA Singles Tennis Championships. After securing the first set, he fell in a tiebreaker in the second and couldn't come back in the third against #23 Michael Zheng of Columbia.

The match capped off a fantastic senior season for the Lyon, France native who transferred to VCU after as a sophomore from OSU in 2021. The loss also snapped an eight match win streak for Bobichon going back to regular season and Atlantic 10 Tournament play, in which he helped VCU capture its seventh straight conference title. In singles this year, Matisse posted a 12-8 record and consistently found himself in the ITA National Singles rankings.

It was the first Ram appearance in the NCAA singles Round of 32 since 2006.
