LEADING OFF
- Eike finished 3-for-4 with a double. He drove in one and scored a run
- Adelman, making his second start of the season, was 1-for-4 with two RBIs
- Senior outfielder Cooper Benzin doubled twice for the Rams
- St. Bonaventure's Morgan Little led a 14-hit Bona attack with three hits. He homered and drove in three
THE STRETCH
- The first seven Bonnies to hit in the bottom of the second reached base as St. Bonaventure rang up five runs
- VCU chipped away with three in a the third, including an RBI double by Eike and a two-run double by Benzin, to make it 5-3
- St. Bonaventure pushed its lead out to 7-3 before Adelman responded with a two-run single through the left side in the fifth. But VCU could get no closer. Bona added a pair of insurance runs on a two-run homer in the eighth and eventually led by as many as six runs in the game
- In addition to Bona's 14 hits, SBU capitalized on seven walks by VCU pitching
- VCU left 13 runners on baseÂ
