RICHMOND, Va. – Already listed as the 10th-best third basemen in the nation by D1 Baseball, VCU Baseball senior Brandon Eike has been named D1 Baseball's Atlantic 10 Preseason Player of the Year ahead of the start of the 2024 season.
 
Eike was also named to Perfect Game's A-10 Preseason All-Conference team to add to his preseason collection.
 
The Ram third basemen, who was named First Team All-Atlantic 10 in 2023, slashed .346/.395/.610 during his first year in the black and gold. He finished the season ranked fourth in the nation in sacrifice flies and total doubles, 15th in doubles per game and 29th in total RBIs.
 
Defensively Eike made just five errors with 91 putouts and 64 assists during the 2023 season, where he started all 55 games for the Rams, splitting time with 12 games at first base and 43 starts on the hot corner.
