WASHINGTON, D.C. – In the first game of the Rams' six-game unbeaten streak, senior goalkeeper
Allison Karpovich recorded a nine-save clean sheet against UNCW on Sept. 12 en route to her first Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week bid. Since that time, she has been outstanding between the posts, allowing just two goals in six matches and tallying four shutouts.
In a repeat career performance, Karpovich tied her match-high nine saves to shut out Loyola Chicago on Oct. 3. The lockdown performance earned the Virginia Beach native her second A-10 Defensive Player of the Week honor, the league announced Tuesday.
Continuing to build on her strong season in 2023, Karpovich's four individual shutouts ties her career high total from last year, while her 42 saves is just three shy of her single-season high 45.
Saint Louis' Emily Gaebe and Loyola Chicago's Allison Deardorff were named the A-10 Offensive Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively.
Karpovich and the Rams return to action on the road at Saint Louis at 2 p.m. (ET) on Sunday, Oct. 13 to continue their quest to remain unbeaten in Atlantic 10 play.
