RICHMOND, VA Two members of VCU Women's Tennis received Atlantic-10 conference recognition this week for their play early in the season. Junior Yelizaveta Karlova was awarded Performer of the Week while freshman Tania Isabel Andrade Sabando was named Rookie of the Week.

In VCU's two opening matches last week, Karlova lined up on court one and battled to a 2-0 record while teaming up with sophomore Emma Valletta against Temple to take down No. 20 Samantha Nanere/Maiko Uchijima 6-2.

Next to Karlova on court two, Sabando made quick work of her opponents, winning in 6-1, 6-1 against East Carolina and 6-1, 6-4 against Temple.
