THE SHORT STORY: On a rainy night in Philadelphia, Pa., VCU Women's Soccer saw a second half goal by La Salle find the back of the net in the 70th minute to give the Explorers a 1-0 win in an Atlantic 10 matchup.

- In the second half the Rams forced a pair of La Salle saves
- Kanna Matsuhisa and Ella Higgins each had a pair of shots to lead the Rams

HOW IT HAPPENED
- VCU goalkeeper Allison Karpovich was tested early, stopping a fifth minute La Salle shot
- The Rams had an answer, working it down the pitch for a shot on goal in the 16th minute by Bulatovic
- Near the end of the half, Matsuhisa ripped a shot that went wide right in the 39th minute
- With the score sitting at 0-0, both sides entered the break
- During the 67th minute Bagley nearly got the Rams on the board with a shot on goal as the rain began to fall
- As the rain got heavier, La Salle was able to take advantage of the wet conditions to get a game winning goal in the 70th minute
- Looking to answer quickly, Higgins smashed a shot that was saved in the 73rd minute
- The final minutes were hectic, as the Rams kept asking the questions as they looked for a tying goal
- And on the final kick of the game, Greta Kraszula took a shot that flew just over the top right corner in VCU's last ditch effort to erase the 1-0 deficit
UP NEXT: VCU returns home for a pair of A-10 matches starting with RV Saint Louis on Oct. 1 and Dayton on Oct. 8. The Rams will host senior day against Dayton.
