The Short Story: VCU Women's Tennis competed in their second tournament this weekend at Battle of the Bay Classic. Junior Yelizaveta Karlova and sophomore Emma Valletta made the trip to represent the Rams.
 
OPENING SERVE

• The Rams began the tournament winning just one match the first day, with Emma Valletta moving on convincingly from the opening round of 32
• Day two saw a victory from Karlova while Valletta fell in the round of 16
• Karlova notched a big victory on day three, winning against the reigning champion of the Pac-12, India Houghton
• Valletta secured another victory on the final day, her third victory of the weekend
• VCU compiled an overall record of 5-3 for the weekend
