• The Cardinals responded early in the third quarter on a penalty corner of their own in the 32^nd minute to tie the game at 1-1. The goal was scored by Kaczmarczyk
• Louisville attempted to pressure VCU for the remainder of regulation but four saves from Messier and the Rams' defense forced overtime
• The Cardinals scored less than a minute into overtime as a pass across the circle was directed in at the back post by Tremont
