WOMEN’S TENNIS RECRUITING CLASS RANKED 18TH NATIONALLY, 2ND AMONG MID-MAJORS

TRN RANKINGS

RICHMOND, Va. – VCU's 2023 recruiting class is turning heads.
 
This week, TennisRecruiting.net (TRN) named the Rams' incoming class as the 18th best in the country and the No. 2 Mid-Major Recruiting Class. VCU Head Coach Vivian Segnini boasts a quartet of signees TRN ranks ahead of notable programs such as UCLA (19), Arizona (20), Baylor (24) and others.
 
VCU, which has reached nine of the past 11 NCAA Tournaments and saw Paola Exposito Diaz-Delgado advance to the NCAA singles semifinals in 2022, boasts a recruiting class that includes Emma Rizzetto (Valenza, Italy), Tania Isabel Andrade Sabando (Santo Domingo, Ecuador), Mariam Hatem Ibrahim (Cairo, Egypt) and Tiziana Rossini (Buenos Aries, Argentina).
 
Emma Rizzetto – Valenza, Italy
Held her best ITF juniors ranking of 300 and is 1450 in the ITF pro rankings. Rizzetto held a UTR rating of 9.71 and was slotted 2.3 in the Italian rankings. Rizzetto also reached the semifinals of the U16 Italian championships.
 
Tania Isabel Andrade Sabando – Santo Domingo, Ecuador
Captured three ITF Junior singles titles in J2 Bolivia 2021, J5 Ecuador 2021 and J3 Peru 2023. She was a South American U16 champion in 2021 and part of the Ecuadorian Billie Jean King Cup in 2021 and 2022. She represented her home country in the South American Games at the U12, U14, and U16 levels. She claimed a silver medal at the Juegos Bolivarianos and bronze at the Junior South American Games for Ecuador in 2022.
 
Mariam Hatem Ibrahim – Cairo, Egypt
Has been rated as high as No. 4 in Egypt U18 rankings and No. 214 in the ITF juniors singles and doubles rankings. Ibrahim has won two ITF junior singles titles and seven doubles titles. She represented Egypt in the ITF Junior World Cup and rose into the top five in Africa U14. She also represented Egypt in the Billie Jean King Cup U16.
 
Tiziana Rossini – Buenos Aries, Argentina
Rossini is an Argentinian national champion and has been ranked as high as No. 2 in her native country. She has been ranked as high as No. 329 in the ITF Junior Rankings and No. 1003 in the WTA Singles and No. 874 in WTA Doubles.
