RICHMOND, Va. – VCU Men's Tennis has announced the addition of Anro Nel from Montagu, South Africa.
 
Nel, who has been ranked as high as No. 119 in the ITF Junior Rankings, is ranked as the No. 2 U18 player in South Africa.
 
"VCU has caught my eye from day one. The team looks great and I feel like it's a great place for me to improve my tennis as well as my studies," Nel said.
 
Nel was a Grade A doubles finalist has won nine ITF doubles titles and has a singles UTR rating of 12.16. Nel has also played in men's singles events on the ITF World Tennis Tour at the M15 Monastir and the M25 Monastir.
 
Nel has won an African Junior Doubles Championship. He joins a class featuring VCU's other newcomers Mathis Bondaz, German Samofalov and Oscar Pitino Sansano.
