The Short Story: VCU held off a Saint Louis rally as Grabriela Davidescu clinched the match in a thrilling tiebreaker to send the Rams to the Atlantic 10 Semifinals.
OPENING SERVE
- The Rams took an early 1-0 lead after securing the doubles point after a 6-2 win on court two and a 6-4 win on court three
- VCU extended its lead to 3-0 in singles with a convincing 6-3, 6-0 win by Emma Valletta on court six followed by a 6-2, 6-3 win from Victoria Matasova on court three
- The Billikens battled back, earning wins on courts one, two and five to even the match at 3-3
- Davidescu sealed the match for the Rams, earning a 6-2, 3-6, 7-6(4) win on court four. Davidescu trailed 6-5 in the tiebreaker set before rallying to win
