MEN'S TENNIS SIGNS HAMZA EL AMINE

RICHMOND, Va. – VCU Men's tennis signed Hamza El Amine, head coach Anthony Rossi announced today.

Born and raised in Casablanca, Morocco, El Amine ranked as high as 134 in the ITF juniors rankings and won his first singles and doubles ATP point last July. El Amine's earned a career-high ATP ranking of 1634.

El Amine has brought home trophies for his home country, as he won the Arabic Championship representing Morocco two times in 2016 and 2017. He also won the national Moroccan Championship for his age group in 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2019.

The incoming freshman was the winner of the U16 African Championship doubles bracket in 2019 and the U14 African Championship in 2018.

El Amine will join the Rams in the fall of 2023.
