The Short Story: Freshman
Selkis Elong had a breakthrough performance in the long jump, leaping 6.20m (20'-4.5") to set the VCU school record in the event. Graduate student
Symone Foster also set the 100-meter hurdle record for the third time this season as the Ram women capped off the outdoor regular season with another weekend of great marks and times.
SPRINTS
- Junior Lauryn Taylor made the final of the 100-meter dash setting a wind-legal PR of 11.46 seconds to finish third against stiff competition.
- Freshman Kayelyn Tate also had a noteworthy performance in the 100m, finishing 13th and crossing the line in 11.69.
HURDLES
- Foster's time of 13.68 was good for sixth place, edging out her previous record of 13.69 in the 100mh that she ran last week at the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational in Florida.
- Senior Lauryn Freeman was right behind her teammate, finishing seventh in the 100mh in a time of 13.69.
JUMPS
- Elong finished third in the long jump, improving by over a foot from her previous personal best of 5.86m (19'-2.75"). Elong broke the long jump school record that stood for 14 years when Verniece Johnson posted a mark of 6.19m back in 2009.

DISTANCE
- Sophomore Lauren Tunnell ran a personal record in the 800m, completing the two-lap race in 2:11.69. With that time, Tunnell placed eighth in the meet and moved up to seventh all-time in VCU history for the 800m.
- Ava Miller once again ran well in the 3000-meter steeplechase, posting a personal best of 11:25.17. Miller is now fourth in VCU school history in the 3000mSC.
THROWS
- Sophomore Gudrun Hallgrímsdóttir took home runner-up honors in the hammer throw, heaving the implement 62.97m (206'-7").
- Senior Jocelyn Midkiff continued her late-season surge, throwing personal records in both the shot put (14.86m/48'-9") and the javelin throw (39.19m/128'-7"). Midkiff made the final in both the shot put and the discus, placing third and fourth respectively in those events.
