HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The Rams and Minutewomen traded goals over the first eight minutes of the game before UMass scored five unanswered goals to lead 6-1 at the end of the first quarter
• VCU got an offensive spark in the second quarter, scoring four unanswered goals as Juliana George cut the deficit to 6-5 with 10:50 left before halftime
• The teams traded goals over the next two minutes as UMass led 7-6 before VCU's offense struggled. The Minutewomen outscored the Rams 8-1 for the remainder of the game
