The Short Story: The Black and Gold sent a handful of athletes to Williamsburg to compete against Bowie State and the host school William & Mary, winning multiple events and setting several PRs.
SPRINTS
- The 4x100-meter relay team of freshman Kayelyn Tate, junior Lauryn Taylor, junior Karah Moore, and freshman Jaylin Pate won in a time of 45.72. That time is the ninth-fastest 4x100m relay in VCU history
- Freshman Ciara Joyner-Plata placed sixth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.32, a personal record by over two-tenths of a second
HURDLES
- Junior Nia McMillian (1:06.75), freshman Madison Parham (1:07.62), and sophomore Kayla Morris (1:08.69) all ran personal best times in the 400-meter hurdles
DISTANCE
- Freshman Jayanna Carroll set a PR of 2:19.82 in the 800m on her way to a fifth-place finish
- Freshman Ava Miller led the Rams in the 1500m, crossing the line in 4:54.23 to finish fifth overall
JUMPS
- Senior Raquel Hawkins won the triple jump with a mark of 11.44m (37'-6.5")

The Short Story: Sophomore
Lauren Tunnell and freshman
Naomi Clarke represented the Rams at the prestigious Raleigh Relays, hosted by N.C. State. Tunnell ran a personal record of 4:33.10 in the 1500m, which ranks her #4 all-time in VCU history in the event. Clarke posted a time of 57.57 in the 400m, the eighth-best time in the Atlantic 10 this season.

VCU track & field will return to Williamsburg next Thursday-Saturday, March 30-April 1 for the annual Colonial Relays at William & Mary. The Rams will also enter athletes at the Vertklass Meeting in High Point, N.C., taking place on Friday-Saturday, March 31-April 1.
