Janika Griffith-Wallace in her final home game but the Rams were unable to overcome a cold-shooting fourth quarter against Richmond.

- Mary-Anna Asare was the second Ram in double figures with 11 points, going 2-of-3 from 3-point range
- VCU outrebounded Richmond 39-37 led by Mykel Parham's seven boards
- The Black and Gold got 16 points off the bench to Richmond's 11
- The Spiders shot 42 percent from the floor while VCU shot just 25 percent. Richmond also shot 35 percent from deep to the Rams' 22 percent
- Richmond was led by Grace Townsend who had 15 points as the team shot over 41% in the game. Townsend was 7-of-10 from the field.

HOW IT HAPPENED:Â

- The Rams forced five turnovers in the first quarter and only allowed just six Richmond points, both on 3-pointers, but trailed 6-5 heading into the second
- The Spiders led by as many as eight points in the second quarter but Mary-Anna Asare hit a 3-pointer as time expired to cut Richmond's lead to 21-16 at the half
- Early in the third quarter with the Rams down 25-16, VCU went on a 10-0 run capped off by an Asare three-point play. The run gave the Rams their first lead since early in the second quarter at 26-25
- The teams traded the lead before Richmond hit two 3-pointers in the final minute, putting the Spiders up 36-31 going into the final period
- VCU struggled offensively in the final 10 minutes, shooting just 13.3 percent in the fourth quarter while Richmond shot 61.5 percent to pull away for the win
