Jasmine Knight recorded 11 blocks as VCU turned away George Washington for the second straight day Sunday in Foggy Bottom.

OPENING VOLLEY
- Knight repeatedly turned away the Revolutionaries. She racked up four blocks in the first set, two in the second and five in the third. It's the third time in her career she's recorded 11 blocks in a match. She added eight kills and hit .353
- Junior opposite Parker Harztell and junior outside hitter Kialah Jefferson spiked 12 kills each for the Black and Gold. Jefferson also contributed 11 digs
- Senior outside hitter Ana Brangioni chipped in with 10 kills, while graduate opposite MaKenzie Chambers supplied seven blocks for VCU
- Salem Yohannes led GW with 12 killsÂ
THE DIFFERENCE
- Despite the sweep, the match was close. VCU trailed 23-20 in the third, but back-to-back kills by Brangioni and a pair of Knight blocks catapulted the Rams in front 24-23. A short time later, Jefferson and Hartzell finished up a 28-26 victory with kills
- The Rams rallied back from a 19-14 hole in the second frame. Hartzell supplied three kills during a 9-4 VCU burst that gave the Rams a 23-22 edge. Consecutive right-handed strikes by Brangioni and Chambers closed out the 26-24 win
- VCU piled on 13 blocks and hit .294 in the contest
NOTABLE
- VCU has won 11 of 12 against George Washington
- The Rams have won five straight matches to improve to 13-3 in league play, which is tied for the second-most conference wins in program history
