THE SHORT STORY: In the waning minutes of the match,
Kendyl Sarver took a pass from
Anna Bagley, smashing home an equalizing goal that sent VCU Women's Soccer into the Atlantic 10 Tournament with a 2-2 draw to wrap up the regular season at Loyola Chicago.
"I am incredibly happy for our players today," said Head Coach
Lindsey Martin. "They deserve to keep playing together and they fought until the end to get the result we needed. Loyola Chicago is a good team, full of hardworking kids, and they made us fight for that point.
"Credit to them, as they were one of the toughest teams we played in conference this year, and a shame that their season ends today. Our full attention goes to our SLU matchup now and I know our kids will show up. On we go."
