HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The game started slowly as neither team recorded a shot until the 14th minute when Carley Deaver fired a shot wide right
- Messier then made back-to-back saves just seconds before the first quarter ended to keep the game tied at 0-0
- The Rams had to play some of the final minutes of the first half with nine players after a green card and yellow card. VCU's defense held firm as they game remained scoreless at half
- Neither team recorded a shot in the third quarter and VCU outshot the Tribe 3-1 in the fourth but the Rams were unable to breakthrough
- The Tribe scored the game-winner in overtime following a penalty corner
