The Short Story: VCU forced overtime with a Mora Marrero goal in the 59th minute but La Salle scored in the second overtime to win the game.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • La Salle outshot the Rams 3-0 in the first half as the score remained tied 0-0
  • VCU recorded its first shot in the third quarter but the Explorers opened the scoring in the 41st minute with Larripa's goal
  • VCU tied the game in the 59th minute as Macera's pass into the circle took a deflection from Marrero's stick and into the goal
  • The teams remained deadlocked through the first overtime. VCU served a yellow card penalty followed by a green card early in the second overtime and the Explorers capitalized
  • La Salle won the game in the 72nd minute on the other goal from Larripa
