• VCU took the lead in the 7^th minute on a penalty corner as Igelsias fired a shot after a stick stop from Mujica and an insert from Hanley
• The two teams went scoreless for the next 30 minutes of action until the  44^th minute when the Rams' McKinney played a pass to split the defense and McCormick beat the goalkeeper from point-blank range
• VCU went up 3-0 in the 48^th minute as Maggie Goodwin's shot to the back post beat the goalkeeper following a penalty corner and a pass from Field
