VCU freshman Gudrun Hallgrimsdottir concluded her season Thursday in the first round of the hammer throw at the NCAA East Preliminary Rounds, placing 23^nd overall with a mark of 59.87m. Hallgrimsdottir put together a stellar freshman season that included a school record and Atlantic 10 title in the hammer throw. She finishes the season ranked first in the Atlantic 10 and 38^th in the NCAA East Region with a mark of 60.14m.
