BERTIMONS ADVANCE TO PROGRAM'S FIRST NCAA SEMIFINALS

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - Charles Bertimon and Maxence Bertimon defeated Auburn's No. 6 ranked pairing of Finlay Murgett and Tad McLean in the 10-point tiebreaker set to become the first VCU Men's Tennis doubles pairing to reach the NCAA Semifinals.
 
The duo won a hotly contested and back-and-forth first set 7-5 to take an early lead. The Tigers were able to even things up by defeating the brothers 6-4 in the second set to force the 10-point tiebearker.
 
Charles and Maxence sealed the match with a 10-6 advantage in the tiebreaker to win the match and advance to the NCAA Semifinals.
 
Charles and Maxence had already beaten the Tigers' duo earlier in the season 7-6(2) as VCU took the doubles point in a match the Rams ultimately won 4-3 against then-No. 25 Auburn on Feb. 25.

Charles and Max Bertimon will face No. 4 Cleeve Harper/Richard Ciamarra of Texas in a 2 p.m. EST match Friday, May 26 in Champaign, Ill.
