RICHMOND, VA - Paola Exposito Diaz-Delgado defeated No. 58 ranked UCLA senior Elysia Bolton in the round of 32 of the NCAA Singles Championships Tuesday morning at the Khan Outdoor Tennis Complex in Champaign, Illinois

The first set saw the two competitors battle in back-and-forth action before Diaz-Delgado broke a 4-4 draw and claimed the set 6-4. Diaz-Delgado would continue to control the action taking a 4-1 advantage in the second set. Bolton would make a comeback attempt but fall a bit short as Diaz-Delgado stayed steady and clinched the match with a 6-3 second set win.

With this victory Diaz-Delgado returns to the Round of 16 for the first time since her sophomore campaign. By advancing to the Round of 16 Diaz-Delgado automatically earns a place on the ITA Division All-American Team, it will be her second time receiving the honor. Diaz-Delgado will face the winner of No. 53 Carmen Corley (Okla.) vs. No.44 Natasha Subhash (UVA) tomorrow, May 25.
