The Short Story:Â The Rams put together a spectacular showing at the South Florida Invitational, highlighted by a school record and four individual event wins.

SPRINTS/HURDLES
- Sophomore Lauryn Taylor grabbed the win in the 100-meter dash, clocking a wind-aided 11.57. She returned to the track in the 200, running a season-best 24.07 to place fourth
- Sophomore Karah Moore ran 56.82 in the 400, her second time under 57 seconds this season. Sophomore Nia McMillan clocked 59.85
- Junior SyVanna Metcalfe narrowly missed her personal best in the 400-meter hurdles, running 1:00.93 to finish third. Her time ranks fourth in the Atlantic 10 this season. Freshman Sophie Heinold ran 1:06.83 in the event
- The Rams' 4x100 team of Metcalfe, junior Rorie Spencer, Moore, and Taylor ran 46.92 to win their heat and take fifth overall. The time ranks first in the conference this season
- Metcalfe, Moore, McMillan, and freshman Lauren Tunnell ran 3:55.68 in the 4x400 to place fourth

THROWS
- The Rams' throwers shined in Tampa, collecting three individual event wins and several top-10 finishes
- Freshman Gudrun Hallgrimsdottir continued her stellar freshman campaign with a win in the weight throw, recording a 59.35m mark. The mark breaks her previous school record of 57.49m set at the Black & Gold Invitational on March 19. Hallgrimsdottir ranks first in the Atlantic 10, 26th in the NCAA East region, and sits just outside the top 50 in the NCAA in the event
- VCU completed a 1-2-3 sweep in the shot put, led by senior Makayla McGowan (15.15m). Sophomore Eryn Byrd (14.34m) and senior Shannon Moise (14.24m) followed
- McGowan capped off her day with another win in the discus, launching a personal-best 50.86m mark. The mark moves her to second all-time at VCU in the event and improves her first place standing in the conference by over two meters. Byrd (45.57m) and Moise (42.44m) placed fourth and sixth, respectively. Byrd's mark ranks third in the conference, while Moise's mark, a personal best, ranks sixth

DISTANCE
- Tunnell made her VCU debut in the 1500, running 4:33.87. Her time ranks eighth in the conference this season and fourth all-time at VCUÂ

JUMPS
- Junior Dasia Mayo cleared 1.60m in the high jump for a fifth-place finish
- Senior Amari Jackson placed fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 11.95m. Freshman Sydney Carr (11.59m) placed sixth, while junior Raquel Hawkins (11.41m) placed eighth
