HOW IT HAPPENED:

• McLaughlin opened the scoring with 10:42 left in the first quarter and the Rams held that 1-0 lead until they scored four goals in the final 5:50 of the quarter to lead 5-0 heading into the second
• The Rams and Chanticleers each scored twice in the second quarter and VCU held a 7-3 advantage at halftime
• VCU's defense limited Coastal Carolina to just two goals in the third quarter and five shot attempts and the Rams extended their lead to 10-5 after a Juliana George goal with 43 seconds left before the fourth
• The Rams held Coastal Carolina scoreless for just over 12 minutes, spanning across the third and fourth quarter, as the Chanticleers were unable to mount a comeback
