The Short Story: VCU held a 9-1 lead at halftime, but a big Radford third quarter trimmed its deficit to 9-6. The Rams' offense took control of the game in the final 15 minutes and outscored the Highlanders 9-2 in the quarter to pull away for the win.

  • Savannah Slack scored a team-high three goals, scoring on all three of her shot attempts
  • Riley O'Malley and Meghan McLaughlin each scored twice with O'Malley also recording an assist
  • Kelsey McDonnell and Abby Osmeyer each scored once and had one assist

  • Meghna Dawar made 11 saves and allowed just three goals while in the goal

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Radford opened the scoring just 1:23 into the match before Autumn Kash scored the first of nine unanswered goals from the Rams to take a 9-1 lead at halftime
  • VCU's defense allowed just one goal in the first half. Dawar made nine saves in the first half
  • Radford shutout the Rams' offense in the third quarter, scoring five unanswered goals and trailing VCU just 9-6 heading into the fourth quarter
  • The Rams scored seven of the first eight goals in the fourth quarter and Morgan Reed's goal put the Rams on top 16-7 with just 3:15 remaining

VCU hosts Elon on Saturday, March 19 for a 3 p.m. draw. The game was postponed from March 12 and will be streamed on ESPN+.
