The short story:Â
Madison Hattix-Covington hit the go-ahead 3-pointer with 24 seconds left as VCU snapped Dayton's 13-game winning streak, the second longest in the country.

OPENING TIP:
- Sarah Te-Biasu had 17 points and five assists with just one turnover. She shot 6-of-10 from the floor and 3-of-6 from the 3-point range
- Chloe Bloom had 10 points and five rebounds. Keowa Walters had 10 points and six rebounds
- VCU forced 17 Dayton turnovers while only committing nine. The Rams outscored the Flyers 15-9 in points off turnovers and led 27-11 in bench points
- Dayton was led by Tenin Magassa who had 14 points and 12 rebounds
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- A slow start allowed Dayton to jump out to a 10-2 lead with 4:14 left in the first quarter and the Flyers led 17-9 at the end of the first quarter
- The Rams went on an 8-0 run early in the third quarter with back-to-back 3-pointers from Robinson and Te-Biasu to cut the deficit to 19-16 with 6:47 left before halftime
- Dayton scored the final five points of the half to lead VCU 27-19 at halftime
- VCU trailed Dayton 34-24 with 5:30 left in the third before going on a 14-1 run. The Rams took a 38-35 lead with 2:24 left in on a 3-pointer from Te-Biasu. Dayton clung to a 40-39 lead heading into the fourth
- The fourth quarter had 10 lead changes and with the game tied 54-54, Hattix-Covington hit the go-ahead 3-pointer with 23 seconds and the Rams held on for win
