Gerardo Castillo were both ranked in the Top Drawer Soccer's Men's Freshmen Top 100 end-of-season rankings as announced by Top Drawer Soccer on Dec. 23.

Ndiaye was ranked No. 57 and Castillo came in at No. 97 in the national freshmen rankings.

Starting all 17 matches in the 2022 season in the midfield, Ndiaye led the team with 25 total shots, and in the final eight matches he played a full 90 minutes. Ndiaye's presence in the VCU midfield was key to the Rams earning a No. 3 seed in the 2022 Atlantic 10 Conference Tournament.

Named to the 2022 A-10 All-Rookie Team, Castillo earned a starting spot on the back line playing a full 90 minutes in 10 of the 14 matches he appeared in. Castillo also found himself in the attacking third as well, leading the team with three assists, including a pair of assists in VCU's 3-3 draw at Campbell on Sept. 14.
