RICHMOND, Va. – Senior outside hitter
Qairo Bentley (Denver, Colo.) has been named All-Atlantic 10 Conference First Team and All-Academic Team, the A-10 announced on the eve of the league's championship tournament in St. Louis, Mo.

Bentley has been a driving force for VCU this year, and is enjoying the most prolific season of her four-year career. The 6-foot Bentley is averaging a career-best 3.20 kills per set this season, which ranks fourth in the A-10. She also ranks fourth in the league in points per set (3.72). Bentley has also provided 3.17 digs, second-most on the team, and 0.56 blocks per set. She has served up 26 aces.

The Denver, Colo. Native has spiked 20 or more kills in a match four times this season, including 26 against St. Louis on Oct. 21. She has registered seven matches of 20 or more digs, including a personal-best 27 on two occasions. Bentley has recorded 18 double-doubles (kills/digs).

Bentley also earned a spot on the league's All-Academic Team for the first time. A Health, Physical Education and Exercise Science major, Bentley owns a 3.5 grade-point-average and is a regular member of the Dean's List and Athletic Director's Honor Roll.

VCU and Bentley will be back in action on Friday, Nov. 18 at 4:30 p.m. when the sixth-seeded Rams meet third-seeded Dayton in the first round of the A-10 Tournament at the Chaifetz Pavilion on the campus of Saint Louis. Â
