The Short Story:Â Georgia Carr-Brown scored the game-winning goal in the 54
th minute to lift the Rams over crosstown rival Richmond. The win qualifies VCU for the Atlantic 10 Championship beginning Nov. 3 at UMass.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- VCU opened the scoring in the 13th minute after Bridget McCormick's initial shot attempt was saved but Jaimie McCormick followed the rebound and hit it first time, finding the back post for the goal
- Richmond tied the game 1-1 in the 17th minute as Hyatt was able to collect a shot that had been deflected in the air over the defense and was tapped in at the goal line
- The Rams applied pressure to Richmond the entire second half but it took until the 54th minute for the game-winner. Carr-Brown dribbled past three Richmond defenders before firing a shot that was moving too fast for the Spiders' goalkeeper to trap
- The Rams allowed only one Richmond shot attempt in the second half, outshooting them 9-1 overall
