The Short Story: VCU used a two-goal fourth quarter to break a 2-2 deadlock and beat Providence on Senior Day.

  • VCU went up 1-0 in the 12th minute as Bridget McCormick redirected a feed from Field off a penalty corner past the keeper
  • Providence tied the game at 1-1 in the 19th minute on a goal from Gowing
  • The Friars took a 2-1 lead in the 26th minute as Collins scored
  • Carr-Brown evened the game at 2-2 in the 28th minute as she got in behind the defense, cut back inside and had her waist-high shot beat the keeper
  • The Rams took a 3-2 lead in the 47th minute as McCormick redirected a pass in from Wetzel at the post
  • Radel doubled VCU's lead to 4-2 in the 54th minute as she was able to take a deflected shot and put in past the keeper at point-blank range
