RICHMOND, Va. – VCU Women's Tennis will face N.C. State on Friday in the first round of the NCAA tournament as announced by the association on Monday.

VCU earned an automatic bid into the national tournament after a 4-0 victory over crosstown rival Richmond in the Atlantic 10 championship match.Â

Monday's selection marks the third straight tournament bid for the program and the seventh since becoming a A-10 conference member in 2012.

The winner of the match will advance to face the winner of South Carolina and Iowa State on Saturday.

Vivian Segnini guided VCU to a 14-9 record, including a perfect 5-0 record against conference opponents.

Paola Exposito Diaz-Delgado. The senior added to her already dominant collegiate career with a 16-3 singles record including an active 14-match win streak.

Noumea Witmus has guided VCU in doubles competition this spring. The duo holds a 13-8 record headed into tournament play.
Attendance guidelines for the first and second round matches are as follows:Â due to capacity guidelines from both the NCAA and the state of North Carolina, seating in the stadium area is limited to family members and guests of participating teams only. Should any matches be moved indoors, they will be closed to the public.
