RICHMOND, Va. – VCU Women's Basketball Head Coach
Beth O'Boyle has announced the addition of Keowa Walters.
Â
Walters, a native of Toronto, Canada, joins VCU after spending the past three seasons at the University at Buffalo. She is a 6-foot-3 forward who played in all 24 contests for the Bulls the past season while averaging 6.1 points, 5.7 rebounds and playing 26.1 minutes per game. Overall, she played in 73 games at Buffalo in her three seasons.
Â
"Keowa is a versatile and strong player who can face up and knock down a jumper or bury defenders inside the paint. Her athleticism and ability to rebound make her a great fit with our up-tempo offense. We're thrilled to welcome Keowa to our program and to Ram Nation," O'Boyle said.
Â
Walters played her senior season of high school basketball at Vaughan Secondary School in Canada where she earned SIAA First Team honors and NACA First Team honors. Walters spent her junior year playing at The Rock Academy in Gainesville, Fla.
Â
Walters and the Bulls played at VCU this past season on Dec. 3. Walters started and recorded five points and eight rebounds in the contest, but the Rams won the game 61-55.
