- The 51st-ranked doubles pairing of senior Inigo Torre Martin and junior Rayne Stable clinched the doubles point with a 6-2 win on court two
- In singles play, Stable tallied 7-5, 6-2 straight-set victory on court five
- The Hokies notched a win on court four to cut the Rams' lead to one
- Bertimon responded with a 6-4, 7-5 win on court two, giving VCU a 3-1 advantage
