  • After a scoreless first six minutes of action, VCU scored five unanswered goals in just over four minutes to lead 5-0 with 19:20 left in the first half
  • George Mason responded with three unanswered goals to cut VCU's lead to 5-3 with 13:47 left before halftime. The two-goal deficit was the closest the Patriots would get for the remainder of the contest
  • The Rams closed the first half strong, scoring six more goals to push their lead to 11-3 after Savannah Slack scored with 2:13 remaining before halftime. VCU led by the 11-3 margin at the half
  • The Rams outscored Mason 8-6 in the second half, leading by as many as much as 18-7 with 10:25 remaining, to pull away for the win
