The Short Story: VCU trailed Davidson just 5-4 with 12:31 left in the first half but the Wildcats scored six unanswered goals to end the half with an 11-4 lead. VCU only got within a five-goal margin in the second half.

QUICK FACTS:
  • Keriann McTavish scored two goals and had two assists. Her two goals moved her into second place all-time at VCU
  • Juliana George had two goals and one assist along with a team-high five ground balls
  • Kelsey McDonnell scored two goals, had four ground balls and three draw controls
  • VCU and Davidson were even on shot attempts at 31-31 but the Wildcats had a 25-19 edge in shots on goal

  • Isabella Evans-Riester opened the scoring just 56 seconds into the first half before the Wildcats scored four of the next five goals to lead 4-2 with 18:20 left in the half
  • VCU responded by scoring two of the next three goals to get within 5-4 after Savannah Slack's goal with 12:31 left in the half
  • Davidson then went on a 5-0 scoring run to lead 11-4 at the half
  • VCU scored three of the first four goals in the second half to get back within 12-7 on a goal from McTavish with 22:46 left
  • The Rams got no closer for the remainder of the contest
