The Short Story: VCU Women's Tennis suffered a 4-0 defeat to Charlotte Saturday afternoon at the Holton-Wagner Tennis Complex

OPENING SERVE
  • Trailing 1-0, freshman Alessia Ciuca and junior Shivani Manjanna evened doubles competition with a 6-4 victory on court three. The duo improved to 10-3 this season with the win
  • The 79th-ranked pairing of senior Paola Expositio Diaz-Delgado and Noumea Witmus were tied 5-5 on court two, but dropped the final two sets as the 49ers claimed the point
  • Charlotte recorded singles victories on courts four, two and three to earn the match win
  • The 93rd-ranked Diaz-Delgado was battling in the second set against 78th-ranked sophomore Ruxi Schech. The senior lost the first set 6-4, but held a 4-0 advantage in the second
  • Graduate Noumea Witmus was leading in the second set on court five, when Charlotte notched the victory. Witmus took the first set 7-5 and was tied 3-3 in the second
