The Short Story: VCU Women's Tennis closed out its two-match weekend road trip with a 4-1 defeat of Marshall Saturday at the Brian David Fox Tennis Center.
OPENING SERVE
	- After dropping a doubles match on court one, junior Shivani Manjanna and freshman Lara Van Der Merwe brought the Rams even with a 6-4 victory on court three
- 116th-ranked senior Paola Diaz-Delgado and graduate Noumea Witmus clinched the doubles point with a 7-5 win on court two
- Marshall tied the match with a singles victory on court two, but Diaz-Delgado one again responded for the Rams with a 6-3, 6-1 win on court one
- Manjanna downed Marshall freshman Gabrielle Clairotte in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3 to extend the VCU advantage
- Witmus secured the match victory for VCU with a three-set win, 6-3, 2-6, 6-2
- Van Der Merwe's singles match was abandoned due to the victory while the freshman was leading 4-1 in the first set
