The Short Story:Â VCU competed in the Heptathlon at the Bobcat Invitational in San Marcos, Texas on Friday and Saturday where
Courtney Higgins dominated the event. The first day of competition included the 100m, High Jump, Shot Put, 200m events while the second consisted of the Long Jump, Javelin, and 800m.Â

HOW IT HAPPENED:Â
Â
- Higgins won the Heptathlon event with 4807 total points. The senior claimed wins in the Shot Put (11.11m), 200m (25.95) and 800m (2:25.12) while setting personal bests in all three events.Â
- Freshman Jailah Channer placed fourth in the Heptathlon overall with 4372 points. Channer set personal records marks in the Shot Put (9.31m) , 100 Hurdles (15.98), 200m (26.57) , Javelin (27.07m), and 800m (2:30.96).
- Taylor James came in seventh place overall while recording personal best marks in the 100 Hurdles, High Jump, and Javelin.Â
