Georgia Carr-Brown scored her first-career goal as VCU Field Hockey defeated crosstown rival Richmond, 3-1 Saturday afternoon at Cary Street Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Richmond opened the scoring with a goal in the seventh minute from Evie Hanson
- With under a minute remaining in the first period, McKinney received a pass from Williams just in front of the Spiders' goal and struck a diving shot that found the back of the cage, evening the score at 1-1
- In the 24th minute, Wetzel fired a shot from the top of the circle off a penalty corner and put the Rams up 2-1
- The Rams' recorded three shots in the third period, but were unable to get one past Latta
- With just over 10 minutes remaining in the game, Maite Sturm intercepted a Spiders' pass, pushed the ball into the circle and dumped it off to Carr-Brown who placed it in the top right corner of the goal for her first collegiate goal
- VCU's defense pressured Richmond throughout the entirety of the game. The Spiders recorded just four total shots and two on goal
