RICHMOND, Va. – VCU Women's Tennis will cross the halfway point of the season when it faces Old Dominion at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Thalhimer Tennis Center.
The Rams hold a 6-6 record after splitting a pair of road matches at West Virginia and Marshall last weekend.
In a 4-1 defeat of the Thundering Herd on Sunday, the doubles duo of 116
th-ranked senior
Paola Exposito Diaz-Delgado and graduate
Noumea Witmus improved to 7-4 on the season with a 7-5 victory on court two.
The pairing has been a steady force in the middle of the VCU lineup throughout the season.
In singles play, Diaz-Delgado and junior
Shivani Manjanna have paced the Rams through the first half. After making just two match appearances last season, the junior has earned six singles match wins through the first twelve matches while Diaz-Delgado has notched a team-leading eight-singles victories this year.
The two programs previously squared off this season on Feb. 28. Old Dominion came out on top in the match, 6-1.

th-ranked senior Holly Hutchinson headlines the Monarchs' singles lineup while the eighth-ranked pairing of junior Yulia Starodubtseva and sophomore Alesya Yakubovich lead the team in doubles.
The match will be the 49
th meeting between the two programs with VCU leading the all-time series 34-14.
Due to athletic department policy, fans are not allowed into the Thalhimer tennis center at this time.
