The Short Story: VCU trailed 11-10 at the end of the first quarter before a Taya Robinson 3-pointer kickstarted a 15-6 second quarter run that gave the Rams the lead for good. VCU led by double digits for the entire second half to cruise to the win.

QUICK FACTS:

  • Tera Reed scored 20 points, the 15th game of her career with at least 20 points, and went 16-of-18 at the free throw line
  • Reed's 16 made free throws tied the school record set by Quanitra Hollingsworth who made 16 against Georgia State on Jan. 13, 2006
  • Taya Robinson had 18 points and seven rebounds, going 4-of-6 from 3-point range

  • The Black and Gold led Davidson 31-21 at the half following a Reed layup with 16 seconds left before the break
  • A quick 7-0 run to start the third quarter allowed VCU to push its lead to 38-21 with 7:48 remaining in the quarter
  • VCU would lead by at least 13 points for the remainder of the contest
