Lauren King provided 14 kills as well as five blocks in VCU's Atlantic 10 opener against Saint Louis at the Siegel Center on Friday.

FIRST SERVE
- King, the reigning A-10 Player of the Week, hit .324 in the contest and committed just two errors
- VCU senior outside hitter Paula Neciporuka pitched in 14 kills, as well as 13 digs in the winning effort. She hit .235 in the match
- Neciporuka registered six of her kills in the first set alone to help VCU to a 1-0 lead
- Freshman middle blocker Jasmine Knight racked up six total blocks for the Rams
- Sophomore outside hitter Qairo Bently added eight kills and 16 digs for the Black and Gold, while junior setter Dani Jo David handed out 23 assists
- Sara Daniels led Saint Louis with 10 kills
THE DIFFERENCEÂ
- VCU trailed 17-13 in the first set, but Neciporuka blasted three kills to spark a 12-5 run to close the frame and hand the Rams a 25-22 win
- After dropping the third set, Knight and King combined on three double blocks to ignite a 6-1 VCU run to open the fourth. The Rams would not trail the rest of the way
- VCU outblocked Saint Louis 8-5 in the match and outhit the Billikens .205-.146
