The Short Story: In a well-rounded team performance from the Rams, the spotlight once again shined on senior thrower Makayla McGowan as she bested a school weight throw record of 17.76m set by Camora Sanders in 2019 with a 18.93m toss of her own on Saturday night in the Rams final meet of the indoor season. 
 
SPRINTS/HURDLES: 
 

• Rorie Spencer and Lauryn Taylor raced to third and fourth-place finishes in the 60m posting times of 7.76 and 7.80 respectively
• Taylor also claimed victory in the 200m
• In the 400m Simone Pierre and Nia McMillan earned fourth and fifth place victories while Karah Moore finished seventh. All three Rams posted times under 60 seconds
• Yasmine Silmon landed a second-place finish in the 60m Hurdles with a personal best time of 9.09. Freshman Michelle Owens finished fourth

 
JUMPS: 
 

• Khaila Lyons leapt over competition in the high jump hitting a mark of 1.60m while Taylor Zlab notched a third-place finish
• In the Long Jump, Jessica Tucker soared to a third-place finish while Janae Blakeney reached sixth
• For the third meet in a row senior Aliyah Newman was victorious in the Triple Jump. Raquel Hawkins snagged third place

 
PENTATHLON:
 

• Senior Courtney Higgins claimed the top overall spot in the indoor pentathlon. In route to the victory, Higgins placed third in the High Jump, second in the Long Jump, second in the Shot Put, third in the 800m, and first in the 60m Hurdles
• Jailah Channer placed third in the pentathlon while topping the Long Jump and High Jump portions of the competition 

 
THROWS:
 

• In addition to McGowan's record breaking Weight Throw performance, the senior also topped the Shot Put competition with 14.33m toss
• Eryn Byrd set personal records in both the shot put and weight throw competitions

 
RELAYS: 
 

• The Ram unit consisting of Yasmine Silmon, Simone Pierre, and Nia McMillan and Karah Moore claimed second place in the 4x400m relay with a time of 3:59.32
