The short story: Senior outside hitter
Paula Neciporuka posted 12 kills and 12 digs, and VCU rallied from an early deficit to win its third straight match Friday night.

OPENING VOLLEY
- Neciporuka hit .478 on 23 swings Friday. She committed just one error and also provided four service aces
- Sophomore outside hitter Qairo Bentley supplied a career-high 15 kills for the Black and Gold. She added seven digs and an ace
- Freshman middle Jasmine Knight also produced 10 kills, while hitting .348 for the Rams, while junior libero Alyna Draper anchored the back row with 20 digs
- Annalyse Kitzberger led Davidson with 10 kills
THE DIFFERENCE
- VCU hit just .071 in the first set on the way to a 25-19 setback. The Rams turned things around quickly and decidedly. VCU hit .318 the rest of the way, including .406 in the fourth frame
- The Rams' back row play stood out again Friday. The Rams owned a 74-54 advantage in digs, and four VCU players recorded at least 10
- VCU served up a season-high 11 aces
NOTABLE
- VCU is 13-0 against Davidson since the Wildcats joined the Atlantic 10 in 2014. The Rams have lost a total of seven sets in the series over that period
