The Short Story: VCU Women's Tennis earned its third-straight victory in a 6-1 defeat of Temple Friday morning at the Thalhimer Tennis Center.

OPENING SERVE

• The sophomore pairing of Luminita Tutunaru and Gabriela Davidescu cruised to a 6-1 victory on court one to open the match.
• 116th-ranked senior Diaz-Delgado and graduate Noumea Witmus followed quickly behind with a 5-2 win over Temple's junior duo of Rine Nozaki and Stefaniya Surikova. The win was the 100th of Witmus' collegiate career
• In singles play, Witmus gave the Rams a 2-0 advantage, securing a 6-0, 6-3 straight-set win on court four.
• Diaz-Delgado earned a dominant, 6-1, 6-0 straight-set victory on court one. With the win, the senior improves to 5-3 on the season
• Junior Shivani Manjanna secured the match victory for the Rams with a 6-1, 6-3 straight-set win on court five.
• Freshman Lara Van Der Merwe closed out the match with a 6-2, 6-2 defeat of Temple graduate Cacilia Castilli. The win was the first of Van Der Merwe's collegiate career
