The Short Story: VCU Women's Tennis cruised past William & Mary in a dominant 7-0 sweep Sunday afternoon at the Thalhimer Tennis Center.

OPENING SERVE

• In doubles play, sophomore's Gabriela Davidescu and Luminita Tutunaru got the Rams on the board with a 6-2 victory in the No. 1 position.
• Junior Shivani Manjanna and Freshman Alessia Ciuca clinched the doubles point for VCU with a 6-3 win in the No. 3 position.
• Graduate Noumea Witmus opened the scoring in singles play. Witmus downed William & Mary sophomore Elisa Van Meeteren in straight sets, 6-0, 6-3
• 116^th ranked senior Paola Diaz-Delgado notched her fourth singles victory of the season with a 6-2, 7-5 straight-set win in the No. 1 position
• After dropping the first-singles set, Tutunaru stormed back to earn a three set victory, 5-7, 6-1, 6-4
• Freshman Alessia Ciuca prevailed in a three-set battle in the No. 3 position. Ciuca defeated Tribe junior Lisa Fukutoku, 4-6, 6-3, 7-5.
